After a month of figuring out my early morning routine, I’ve gotten it down to these rough time blocks:
5:00AM - wakeup and make my way downstairs
5:10AM - quick “clean” (anything left from night before, start load of laundry, work, etc)
5:30AM - start yoga or workout
6:00AM - grab hot lemon water and read/journal
6:30AM - get dressed and ready for the day
Of course, the above is an ideal, and no two mornings are ever the same in the season of little ones. Callie loves to wake up early and is always inching into my morning time so if I’m dragging feet and get a late start for myself, I can pretty much guarantee I won’t have time for it all. With that said, I don’t get upset if I don’t fit it all in, but I always feel so much better for the day when I do.
I’ve also started to elevate my morning coffee and it was the easiest upgrade — I just add a few scoops of collagen (4 tbsp serving size) to my cup, froth it up with a little milk or creamer and go! After doing it regularly for the past month, I feel like it’s helped bring more energy into my mornings and the added protein does keep me fueled a bit longer. Collagen peptides are said to help with joint and bone health, as well as improve skin hydration and elasticity — all the more reason to add it to my drinks.
I was on my podcast game this last week, taking Ford out on our daily walks. I really enjoyed the few below and figured I’d share them here because why not:
The Skinny Confidential Him & Her; episode #793 “Mel Robbins on Life-Changing Tools & Habits To Rise Up and Build Your Dream Life in 2025 & Beyond”
Conversations with Cam; episodes #280 “Supporting Your Partner’s Mental Health and Parenting with Intention with My Husband, Joe” and #282 “‘Who Am I Now?’ Matrescence and Identity Crises After Becoming a Mom with Psychotherapist Elizabeth Baron“
Huberman Lab; episode “Dr. Becky Kennedy: Overcoming Guilt & Building Tenacity in Kids & Adults”
