48 Hours in Chicago
I convinced my parents to watch the kids for a few nights and got to tag along on one of Chris’s work trips last week — a quick 48 hours in Chicago for an industry event that he was moderating a panel on.
While there wasn’t much sight seeing or tourist-ing to be done, we definitely had our fair share of good eats and drinks, so I’m sharing the spots we hit below:
Bar Mar - We swung into this beautiful Michelin-recognized bar for a quick bite before dinner. Lots of seafood and Spanish tapas.
Flight Club - A fun dart bar down on Wacker St along the river North.
2Twenty2 Tavern - A moody pub with American fare, can’t go wrong with any of their burgers or beers.
Wildberry Pancakes - Located just across from Grant Park, this cafe has the largest breakfast/brunch menu and was worth the frigid walk from our hotel.
RAISED | Urban Rooftop Bar - We were celebrating both Chris and his coworkers’ birthdays and had a great time starting our night here. The bartenders were very welcoming and I always loving for other local recommendations.
Aba - AMAZING. Unless you hate incredible food, make the reservation, trust me.
Notable mentions
We didn’t make it to these places but I had them saved on my Google Maps list for other potential places to go:
Hide + Seek - Nice sit down restaurant in the same area as Aba.
The Dearborn - American restaurant located in the heart of the Chicago Loop.
SoHo House - Hotel with rooftop restaurant and pool.
Storyville - Restaurant in the River North neighborhood with a Southern inspired menu.
The Second City - Comedy club.
